LIKE A MOTH TO A FLAME

Like a moth to a flame

I was drawn to your light.

You shone in my darkness

So warm and so bright.

My instincts I followed

Though I knew I'd get burnt.

The action repeated

The lesson unlearnt.

I've flown here before

And my wings touched the flame.

Life threatening to me

But to you, just a game.

So don't put out your light

Or I'll lose my way.

Now I've got this close

Won't you please, let me stay.

(INSTRUMENTAL BREAK - I VERSE)

Like a moth to a flame

I was drawn to your light.

You shone in my darkness

So warm and so bright.

My instincts I followed

Though I knew I'd get burnt.

The action repeated

The lesson unlearnt.
