I listen to the Blackbird's song upon this
clear bright morning
Looking out still half asleep and I smile
while I'm yawning
High in a tree the Songthrush starts to
swell the cheerful throng
Then all will join the chorus of this universal
song.

Another Summer's day begins with birdsong
like a choir
As clear blue sky fills up with sound the
Sun climbs ever higher
The Linnets and the Finches fly, make music
on the wing
And I will stand and lend an ear to hear
the Woodlark sing.

I hear a distant chapel bell it's message
clearly ringing
Another choir fills the air, their voices
sweetly singing.
The congregation's hymns of praise ascending
like a prayer
But with this universal song nothing can
compare.
